# Interactive Pictogram Pots Pet Plant By Ayman | Published 2008-05-28 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-plant References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/index.php/2008/05/28/plants-tell-you-what-they-want/) Wouldn't it be much more convenient if plants could express their needs by interacting with you? That exactly what the **Pet Plant** by *Junyi Heo* does. The stylish, hi-tech pot measures temperature, humidity, soil conditions and water needs. The measurements are used to make calculations according to the type of plant and its specific needs. Its requirements are then conveniently expressed via pictograms on an LCD display. Also, if you put too much water in, it will automatically drain the soil into a water vessel. A USB interface is used for charging the pot and for transferring the information to and from the software. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 35% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Pictogram Pots:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the plant care industry by incorporating smart technology to measure and communicate plant needs. - **Smart Plant Care:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the technology industry by developing advanced sensors and software for monitoring and managing plant health. - **Hi-tech Pot Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the design industry by creating stylish and functional pots that integrate technology for plant care. ### Who This Affects Most - **Plant Care Industry:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the plant care industry by introducing smart plant pots that monitor and communicate plant needs. - **Technology Industry:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the technology industry by developing advanced sensors and software for smart plant care systems. - **Design Industry:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the design industry by integrating technology into the design of plant pots for added functionality and aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Self-Watering Smart Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-leafypod.md) - [Digital Interaction Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planta-planter.md) - [AI-Powered Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leafypod.md) - [Climate-Controlled Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-flower-system.md) - [Self-Watering Plant Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivo-pot.md) - [Self-Watering Flowerpots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gropot.md) - [Smart Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tendril-1.md) - [Naturalistic Self-Watering Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apot-selfwatering-planter.md) - [Indoor Greenery Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-plant-sensor.md)
