# Custom Critter Cushions Replicate a Lost Animal with a Life-Sized Pet Pillow By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-02-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-pillow References: [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/listing/95995567/custom-silkscreen-pet-pillow) A simple yet ingenious way to commemorate a loveable pet is to get a pet pillow made in its image. Shannon Broder on [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floof-snuggle-sack-and-floor-pillow) creates custom cushions using silkscreen printing, transferring a perfect black and white image of any pet onto fabric. The cushion is even made into the shape of the image, creating a life-sized version of the critter. Anyone who wants to replicate their pets so they can decorate their home with cute animal faces would love these as gifts. They are also a great way to [remember a pet that passed away](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paw-pods-1), allowing the owner to cuddle with a lost friend once again. Every pet pillow is made with non-toxic acrylic paint on muslin fabric. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 7% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Custom Pet Pillows:** Opportunity for personalized home decor and pet memorabilia using customized pet pillows. - **Silkscreen Printing:** Innovative printing technique for transferring detailed pet images onto fabric, creating unique and life-sized pet pillow replicas. - **Emotional Pet Remembrance:** Market for products that help pet owners remember and honor their beloved animals, such as custom pet pillows. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for the home decor industry with the introduction of personalized pet pillows. - **Printing:** Potential innovation in the printing industry with the use of silkscreen printing for detailed pet image transfers onto fabric. - **Gifts and Memorabilia:** Opportunity for the gifts and memorabilia industry to offer custom pet pillows as unique and sentimental gifts for pet owners. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Custom Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portrait-mom.md) - [Two-In-One Plush Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cute-animal-pillow-with-blanket.md) - [Large Animal Plush Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polar-bear-oversized-plush-cuddle-animal-body-pillow.md) - [Personalized Pet-Inspired Ornaments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/petinspired-ornament.md) - [AI Pet Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawmypet.md) - [Recordable Stuffed Animals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dubido-factory.md) - [Post-Mortem Pet Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cirius-beam-projector.md) - [Comfy Sofa-Inspired Pet Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofa-pet-bed.md) - [Collectible Plush Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squishpillow-by-original-squishmallows.md)
