"I don't care about wine. I never wanted to be a sommelier," said founder Jess Thevenoz. "I just wanted someone I trusted to pick a wine for me. That insight became our entire product thesis." Theodora does things differently by taking a conversational approach to matching wine drinkers with something that might suit their preferences. With the [no-experience-needed app](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/masterclass-guide-to-wine), users can track what they want to try, what they've already tried, and get [expert suggestions based on personal preferences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personalized-food-and-beverage), occasion, and more. And with time, wine drinkers will get even better recommendations as Theodora gets more attuned to their likes and dislikes. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 7.1/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 82% | Freshness: 56% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Drinking](https://www.trendhunter.com/drinking) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **AI-driven Personalization:** AI-driven personalization in apps like Theodora revolutionizes the way individuals find products and services, creating highly customized user experiences. - **Conversational User Interfaces:** The rise of conversational user interfaces offers an approachable means for consumers to interact with technology, enhancing user engagement and satisfaction. - **Experience-based Product Discoveries:** Experience-based product discovery focuses on personal preferences and past interactions, providing users with tailored recommendations for decision-making. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Digital Wine Retail:** The digital wine retail industry is embracing new technologies to attract consumers, offering them personalized shopping experiences through applications like Theodora. - **Artificial Intelligence Solutions:** Artificial intelligence solutions are transforming industries by facilitating personalized consumer experiences and gathering valuable data for businesses. - **Mobile App Development:** Mobile app development continues to innovate with personalized features and user-centric designs, enhancing accessibility and interaction for diverse consumer needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ominously Dark Red Wines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/severed-red.md) - [Immersive Wine Galas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-drop-gala.md) - [Charitable Food Security Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meals-on-wheels-america.md) - [Pampering Festive Salons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-bow-bar.md) - [Holiday-Ready Curated Condiment Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/curated-condiment-sets.md) - [Estate Chardonnay Wines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/estate-series-chardonnay.md) - [Award-Winning Liqueur Producers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liqueur-producer.md) - [Stackable Potato Appetizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hash-brown-topple-tower.md) - [Reimagined Civic Gardens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/union-terrace-garden.md)
