# Futuristic Public Transit Pods Personal Train Capsules By Pearl | Published 2008-08-04 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/personal-capsule-train-hamit-kanuni-kuralkan References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/future-train-with-individual-capsule-but-not-for-long-journey) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/Gallery/A-train-form-study/108659) This futuristic train has been designed with [individual capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iris-pod), or in group seatings of four. The advantage of this design form is the [private personal space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kabin) for the riders. This could be attractive in a day and age where [safety in public transport systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/e10-shinkansen) is a concern. On a lesser scale, the privacy will rid riders of annoying behaviours inherent when large groups of people are travelling together - talking on cellphones, crying children and incessant talkers. However, these capsules don't allow for stretching of legs and will not suit those who suffer from claustrophobia. The capsule trains are perhaps best for commuters and thus shorter journeys. Hamit Kanuni Kuralkan is the Australian based industrial designer behind this concept design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Personal Train Capsules:** This trend disrupts traditional public transportation by offering individual capsules or group seatings for enhanced privacy and personal space. - **Safety-focused Transit Solutions:** This trend addresses safety concerns in public transport systems by providing private and secure spaces for riders. - **Commuter-friendly Train Designs:** This trend caters to the needs of commuters by offering efficient and comfortable transportation options for shorter journeys. ### Who This Affects Most - **Transportation:** The transportation industry can explore innovative designs like personal train capsules to revolutionize public transit and address safety concerns. - **Design:** The design industry can contribute to the development of futuristic train pods that prioritize privacy, comfort, and safety for commuters. - **Technology:** The technology industry can play a key role in integrating advanced features like enhanced security systems and smart functionalities into personal train capsules. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Personal Overnight Train Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yolochka-cabin-concept.md) - [Panoramic Open-Air Roof Trains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-train.md) - [Accessible Train Interior Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/proteus-rail-interior-system.md) - [Socialization-Encouraging Travel Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agorae-mobility-concept.md) - [Transforming Autonomous Transportation Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arrival-chemie.md) - [Lifestyle-Conscious Transportation Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kia-pod-concept.md) - [Multifunctional Transport Buses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubblic-public.md) - [Business Traveler Suitcase Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/capsule-luggage.md) - [Reconfigurable Travel Pod Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pix-robobus.md)
