# Flower-Pot-Copying Reflectors Perseus Mirror Seems to Bloom from What Resembles a Timber Planter By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-03-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perseus-mirror References: [archidesignclub](http://www.archidesignclub.com/magazine/rubriques/design/45638) & [tamimdaoudi](http://www.tamimdaoudi.com/fr/design-objet/objets-design-du-designer-tamim-daoudi-strasbourg.html) It is always interesting to see ordinary objects interpreted in usual ways, and the Perseus Mirror is an example of this sort of design. The lovely looking glass does not take the typical circular or rectilinear shape, and nor is it propped up in a familiar fashion. The [unconventional Miroir Persée](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suzanne-oddy) has been cut in the form of an elongated droplet, referencing the old style of handheld mirror. In this case, however, the [reflective material](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirroring-dialogue) makes up the entirety of the whimsical piece, including the apparent handle. You can, of course, use Tamim Daoudi's beautiful creation in the antique way as well. What comes with the Perseus Mirror, however, is a flaring lumber cylinder that seems to emulate the contours of a [flower pot](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflecting-diverseness). The reference is strengthened when the reflector is planted into it. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 12% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Unconventional Mirrors:** Designing mirrors in unconventional shapes and forms presents opportunities for unique and eye-catching home decor products. - **Whimsical Home Decor:** Creating home decor items with whimsical elements like a flaring lumber cylinder can appeal to those seeking unconventional and artistic pieces. - **Antique-inspired Designs:** Incorporating vintage aesthetics, such as the old style of handheld mirrors, can bring a sense of nostalgia and uniqueness to modern designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore new design possibilities by incorporating unconventional mirror shapes and whimsical elements. - **Furniture:** Furniture manufacturers can incorporate whimsical home decor items like flaring lumber cylinders to create unique and visually appealing pieces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can embrace antique-inspired designs and unconventional mirrors to create visually stunning and nostalgic spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Jewelry-Holding Flower Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-vase-stand.md) - [Geometrical Golden Ratio Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ascension-wall-mirror.md) - [Optical Illusion Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hooptical.md) - [Illusory Doorway Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panis-mirror.md) - [Curvaceous Shelf-Paired Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wave-mirror.md) - [Wavy Dual-Action Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/archvyli.md) - [Illusory Mirror Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirror-table-lamp.md) - [Sophisticated Copper Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manu-ba.md) - [Colorful Retro Pixel Mirrors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paint-mirror.md)
