Created by the Madrid-based designer Ana Arana the quirky home furniture item is titled 'Tromploeil' -- a play on the word that is normally used to describe an art technique that creates optical illusions out of normal images. The divider is large and has [asymmetrical designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti) at its top, while its perforated screen and [multi-colored geometric details](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collection-co) add a more playful spin. An unusual addition on the perforated room divider is a small cubic accent at its base on what is normally a 2D furniture item. This playful furniture item puts a playful spin on what is normally an understated design piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Perforated Room Dividers:** Opportunity for innovative designs to create visually captivating room dividers with perforated screens. - **Bright and Modern Spaces:** Opportunity to incorporate bright colors and asymmetrical designs to make spaces look more contemporary and inviting. - **Playful Home Furniture:** Opportunity to introduce whimsical and playful elements in home furniture design, adding a unique aesthetic to living spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can explore new ways to incorporate perforated room dividers and create visually appealing, modern spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers can embrace playful designs and explore the use of asymmetrical patterns and perforated screens in their products. - **Home Decor:** Home decor retailers can offer customers unique and vibrant room dividers that add personality and a touch of whimsy to their living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rotating Panel Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ro-room-dividers.md) - [Pleated Textile Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plissade.md) - [Felt-Made Retractable Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixels-1.md) - [Sculptural Room Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morgen-screen.md) - [Flexible Room Partition Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-partition-system.md) - [Material-Centric Room Divider Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ren-series.md) - [Dual-Weave Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilid.md) - [Hemp Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-divider.md) - [Contemporary Modular Space Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wallstreet.md)
