The perforated concrete of the [Nest House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daria-sheina) brings a decorative touch to an otherwise typically modern design. With its [boxy shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lima-house) that allows for optimal space and airiness inside, there is even more emphasis on natural lighting due to the stunning cutouts and patterns on the outside.

Designed for a retired couple by architect Gerado Ars, the Nest House's perforated concrete is reflected throughout the home as well. The overall look of the house is inspired by the "combinations of two cultures; Chiapas, the state where the couple were born, and Veracruz a city they love and have built a life for themselves and their children," writes Contemporist. It is nevertheless located in the seaside town of Alvarado, Veracruz, Mexico.
