The product is formulated with a blend of corn, wheat and edamame to mimic the same vegetarian diet that Perdue chickens eat, but has been seasoned with a touch of barbecue seasoning spices to increase the flavor. The limited-edition snack is being launched by the brand on a first-come, first-serve basis starting Friday, November 17 starting at 12pm EST online where consumers can order a bag free of charge. Executive Vice President of Marketing David Zucker spoke on the Perdue Chix Mix saying, "Perdue is proud to highlight our gold-standard animal care practices and all-natural bird feed in this one-of-a-kind, chicken-feed-inspired snack. We believe you are what you eat, and at a critical point in time when competitors are going back to using preventative antibiotics, we want to reinforce our commitment to feeding our chickens, and your family, clean food.” ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 41% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 19% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Vegetarian Snack:** The Perdue Chix Mix is an unexpected snack product formulated with a blend of corn, wheat, and edamame to mimic the vegetarian diet of Perdue chickens. - **Farm-to-table Inspired:** Perdue highlights their gold-standard animal care practices and all-natural bird feed in this chicken-feed-inspired snack, reinforcing their commitment to feeding clean food. - **Limited-edition Launch:** Perdue is launching the Chix Mix on a first-come, first-serve basis, allowing consumers to order a bag free of charge. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Snack Food:** The Chix Mix is an innovative snack product that brings a new vegetarian option to the snack food industry. - **Agriculture:** Perdue's chicken-feed-inspired snack highlights their commitment to all-natural bird feed, presenting an opportunity for innovation in the agriculture industry. - **Online Retail:** Perdue's limited-edition launch of the Chix Mix online allows for an exploration of disruptive innovation in the online retail industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Veggie-Infused Chicken Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perdue-chicken-plus-snackers.md) - [Breaded Chicken Bites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perdue-chicken-plus-chicken-tots.md) - [Festively Shaped Chicken Nuggets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perdue-holiday-nuggets.md) - [Savory Sandwich-Flavored Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chex-mix-remix.md) - [Rotisserie Chicken Meat Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rotisserieseasoned-chicken-sticks.md) - [Breaded Pulled Pork Bites](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bbqseasoned-pulled-pork-bites.md) - [Protein-Rich Chicken Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peperami-roasted-chicken-bites.md) - [Jerky-Like Chicken Sticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicken-sticks.md) - [Fried Chicken Popcorn Snacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/popcorn-chicken-popcorn.md)
