# Minimalist Magazine Racks Percha by Rafael Fernandez Closes Subtly When Not in Use By Meghan Young | Published 2016-04-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/percha-by-rafael-fernandez References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/04/22/what-a-rack/) Percha by Rafael Fernandez, an industrial designer, is a unique [magazine rack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand). At first glance a person might mistake it for a sculptural take on a [wooden hanger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-hanger). Yet instead of [holding clothes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charity-hanger) it is meant to hold books. Of course, there's no stopping a person from hanging other items off its arms as well. What makes Percha by Rafael Fernandez stand out in particular is the fact that when it's not in use, it can be closed up to ensure it doesn't take up too much space physically or visually. Simple and sleek, it adds a decorative touch to homes in a practical way. This is especially so depending on what a person decides to rest within its wooden embrace. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Furniture:** The rise of minimalist furniture designs presents opportunities for creating innovative, space-saving storage solutions like Percha. - **Multi-functional Design:** The trend towards multi-functional design encourages the development of products like Percha that can serve multiple purposes in a stylish and practical way. - **Small Space Solutions:** As urban living spaces shrink, there is an increasing need for innovative products like Percha that maximize functionality while minimizing physical footprint. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore innovative designs and products like Percha to cater to the growing demand for minimalist and efficient living spaces. - **Furniture:** In the furniture industry, there are opportunities to create space-saving solutions like Percha that provide decorative and functional value for consumers with limited space. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage products like Percha to create stylish and clutter-free living spaces for clients, incorporating minimalist furniture as a key design element. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tubular Literature Storage Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interspace-magazine-rack.md) - [Tripod-Like Garment Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-coat-rack.md) - [Flat-Packed Sleek Dish Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aurea.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Open-Concept Clothing Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-clothes-hanger-rack.md) - [Minimal Shoe Rack Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tokyo-shoe-rack.md) - [Storage-Equipped Restaurant Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rack-chair.md) - [Sleek Wall Organizer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mdf-boards.md) - [Minimal Sleek Aluminum Bookstands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrial-bookstand.md)
