# Bizarre Bedtime Sculptures These Sculptures by Debbie Quick Depict Baby-Sized People in Bed By Lacey-Jane Walsh | Published 2013-07-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/people-in-bed References: [sweet-station](http://sweet-station.com/blog/2013/07/debbie-quick/) & [debbiequick](http://www.debbiequick.com/home.html) Artist Debbie Quick's bedtime sculptures depict [bald baby-sized people in bed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inedible-doll). It's unclear if they're meant to actually be babies as their faces look more wrinkled than that of an infant. In some of these pieces, two babyish figures lay in bed facing one another, staring into each other's eyes and in some cases, making faces. However, other sculptures feature multiple baby figures in one bed. The most intriguing part about these sculptures is the connection some of these figures seem to have. While some of these bald figures gaze up at the ceiling as if they were pondering something, others stare straight into each other's eyes in a way that suggests a closeness or a special bond of some kind. These intriguing bedtime sculptures are viewed in a dark room, which is fitting considering that these figures are curled up in bed. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Bedtime Sculptures:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring unconventional ways to depict human relationships and emotions through sculptures. - **Baby-sized Figures:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating unique art forms that challenge traditional notions of age and identity. - **Emotional Connections:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Designing interactive sculptures that evoke emotions and foster a sense of connection between viewers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrating technology and sculpture to create immersive and interactive art experiences. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborating with artists to incorporate unconventional sculptures as focal points in interior spaces. - **Psychology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Exploring the therapeutic benefits of engaging with sculptures depicting human relationships and emotions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wooden Light-Hearted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-sculpture.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Human Torso-Inspired Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lene-bdker.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Sea-Inspired Mini Sculpture Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-sculptures.md) - [Whimsical Childlike Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-eternal-child.md) - [Striking Sculptural Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpture-candle.md) - [Insect-Inspired Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insect-bronze-sculptures.md) - [Sensorial Anime Dolls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedhedz.md)
