# Architectural Mood Lighting The Penta Lamp By Ayman | Published 2008-07-23 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penta-lamp References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/index.php/2008/07/22/architectural-mood-lighting/) & [coscadesign.it](http://www.coscadesign.it/) The [Penta Lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snow-peaks-ivory-tent-tarp) by Luca Casarotto utilizes structure and architectural design to dynamically change its shape and the degree of its ambient light. Although the shape appears to be quite complex, [Yanko Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/expand-furniture) points out that it is actually fairly simple and [comes flat packed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allen-key-lamp). To make things even better, the Penta Lamp is made of recycled material. I think that's where beauty of the design lies. To have something appear complicated, but actually be simple. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Dynamic Lighting Design:** The Penta Lamp utilizes structure and architectural design to dynamically change its shape and the degree of its ambient light. - **Sustainable Lighting:** The use of recycled materials in the Penta Lamp offers opportunities for companies to create sustainable lighting products. - **Flat-packed Lighting:** The Penta Lamp's flat-packed design offers opportunities for companies to create easy-to-assemble lighting products. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The Penta Lamp offers opportunities for interior designers to incorporate dynamic lighting design into their projects. - **Sustainable Manufacturing:** The use of recycled materials in the Penta Lamp offers opportunities for manufacturers to incorporate sustainable practices into their production processes. - **Home Goods Retail:** The Penta Lamp's flat-packed design offers opportunities for home goods retailers to sell easy-to-assemble lighting products with unique design features. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Blooming Lighting Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavo.md) - [Foldable Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-folding-lamp.md) - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Metal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md) - [Elegant Axis-Mounted Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pendulum-lamp.md) - [Traditional Tower-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pagoda-lamp.md) - [Flat-Pack Paper Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tsubomi.md)
