# Atarifying Flicks Penney Designs Puts a Retro Spin on Modern Movies By Michael Hines | Published 2010-01-14 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penney-designs References: [laughingsquid](http://laughingsquid.com/movies-reinterpreted-as-atari-2600-videos-games/) & [penneydesign.tumblr](http://penneydesign.tumblr.com/) Penney Designs has recreated several films into Atari 2600 games. I’m a little too young for Atari, many years too young, but I know a cool find when I see one. These movies look perfect as Atari games. My favorite has to be Avatar with Prison Break being a close second. Penney Designs has married the two worlds of video games and film together like never before. Not even Prop 8 could kill this couple. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.3/10 - Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Retro Game Controller Revivals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-game-controller-phallic-atari-joy-stick-arrives.md) - [Retro Handheld](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-handheld-ds-inspired-atari-2600-portable.md) - [DIY iPod Docks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ipod-docks.md) - [Retrofied Modern Movies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retro-video-game-covers.md) - [Animated Atari Pong T-Shirts (For Geeks)](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animated-t-shirts-for-geeks.md)
