# Computer Mice Pen Hybrids The Penclic Mouse Offers an Alternative Experience to PC Navigation By Matt Ho | Published 2011-09-29 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penclic-mouse References: [fancy](http://fancy.com/things/264042397/Penclic-Wireless-Mouse) & [penclic.se](http://www.penclic.se/) Computer mice have had the same look since they've come on the market, so I suppose it's only fair that the Penclic Mouse changes up the look and the way people navigate their PCs. The Penclic Mouse is Swedish-designed and up until now, was only available in Europe. Think of the accessory as a thinner version of a joystick, only instead of games, it's used for computers. The mouse has an [ergonomic design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vertical-mouse-concept) that promises to be a better alternative than the original design of [computer mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-computer-mouse). Instead of using the entire hand, the Penclic only requires the use of the wrist and fingers; so some dexterity is required here. Buttons are all located in the thumb area, while the scroll wheel has been integrated onto the base of the product. The Penclic Mouse will be released in wire and [wireless versions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-nova). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.5/10 - Popularity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Ergonomic Computer Mice:** The Penclic Mouse offers an ergonomic alternative to traditional computer mice, improving comfort and reducing strain on the hand and wrist. - **Thinner Joystick Design:** The Penclic Mouse introduces a thinner joystick-like design that aims to provide a unique and more intuitive PC navigation experience. - **Integrated Scroll Wheel:** The integration of the scroll wheel onto the base of the Penclic Mouse opens up opportunities for innovative and more convenient scrolling functionality. ### Where This Applies - **Computer Accessories:** The Penclic Mouse disrupts the computer accessories industry by offering a new and improved ergonomic alternative to traditional mice. - **Gaming Peripherals:** The thinner joystick design of the Penclic Mouse presents an opportunity for the gaming peripherals industry to explore innovative and immersive gaming experiences. - **Ergonomic Technology:** The ergonomic design of the Penclic Mouse provides an opportunity for the ergonomic technology industry to develop and market more comfortable and user-friendly computer peripherals. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ergonomic Quality Computer Mice](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/propoint.md) - [Intuitive Gesture-Control Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tactigon-skin-wearable-mouse.md) - [Ergonomic Digital Creative Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microsoft-palm-mouse.md) - [Minimalist Ergonomic Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keychron-m5.md) - [Ergonomic Scroll Mouse Peripherals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/slidermouse-pro.md) - [Pine Cone-Inspired Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treemouse.md) - [Wearable Gesture-Based Mouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-clip-mouse.md) - [Health-Conscious Mouse Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergo-ergonomic-mouse-concept.md) - [Modular Wireless Computer Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-nova.md)
