# Optical Illusion Pencil Cases The Fakus Pencil Case Appears 3D By Jamie Danielle Munro | Published 2014-03-31 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-cases References: [designboom](http://www.designboom.com/art/fakus-pencil-case-collection-tricks-the-eye-03-31-2014/) & [sun-star-st.jp](http://www.sun-star-st.jp/) Pencil cases are a classic staple in every child's [school supply](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clever-school-desk1) roundup, so company Sun-Star has come up with a design to make onlookers do a double take. The company has made the Fakus Pencil Case, which appears to be 3D, but is actually completely flat. This product would be great for fooling the other kids at school and playing a few practical jokes. All kids have to do is flash their Fakus Pencil Cases in front of friends, then lay it flat on the desk to show its 2D nature. The cases come in a few different designs and colors, including pink, yellow, blue, green, purple and orange. Children will have no shortage of choices when deciding which Fakus case suits their liking.
