# Flash Drive Doodlers The Pen2 Has a Pair of Functions Designed to Better Furnish Your Desktop By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-02-19 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pen2 References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/ROTARY-CLUB-CONTEST/5271105) A well-equipped workstation is often the site of incredible clutter as containers, trays and drawers are often filled with writing utensils and devices of all sorts. Designer Diletta Orlandi strove to reduce the number of items that collect in and on top of one's desk by coming up with a product called the Pen2, boasting a [dual function](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pockitrod). The [writing implement](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/p3n-pen) has a ballpoint tip and an average length, but it broadens towards its top end. Here, a flash drive has been installed, storing data within the shaft of the scribbler. A little cap covers the USB connector to protect it. Diletta Orlandi gave her Pen2 a bright blue color with a yellow lid. Specifically, it's been created with the Rotary Club and its colors in mind, featuring the familiar logo. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 100% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dual Function Devices:** The convergence of different functions into a single device opens up opportunities to simplify and declutter workspaces and lifestyles. - **Integrated Storage:** The seamless incorporation of storage capabilities into everyday items can enhance their utility and value for consumers. - **Personalized Products:** Customized and bespoke products that cater to specific tastes and preferences of consumers offer a way to differentiate and add value to existing offerings. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Office Supplies:** Innovative designs that offer greater functionality, convenience, and aesthetics in office supplies have the potential to improve work routines and productivity. - **Technology Accessories:** Consumer electronics accessories that integrate storage capabilities in a seamless and stylish manner can cater to the needs and preferences of tech-savvy consumers. - **Gifts and Souvenirs:** Personalized and customized products like the Pen2 can serve as unique and memorable gifts and souvenirs for special occasions or events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Three-in-One Writing Utensils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tp-pen.md) - [Dual-Functioning Mechanical Pencils](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-penpass.md) - [Object-Resembling USB Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sandisk-1.md) - [Playful Crayon USB Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sandisk-crayola-usbc.md) - [Striking Writing Tool Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenith7-desk-pen.md) - [Digital Writing Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fuseproject.md) - [Icon-Shaped USB Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folderdrive.md) - [Minimalist Floating Pen Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pulse-pen.md) - [Pattern-Drawing Dual-Tip Pens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colored-curve-pens.md)
