The pelican in question, named Bigbird, was rescued by staff at the Nomad Tanzania animal sanctuary. The young pelican had been abandoned by its flock after a powerful storm. The staff had to teach BigBird how to fly by running up and down the beach while flapping their arms. Finally, the bird's instincts kicked in and he began to learn how to fly. This prompted the animal sanctuary staff to create an astounding Pelican GoPro video to capture BigBird's point of view while soaring in the sky. The resulting video is incredibly heart-warming, and shows the bird's initial struggles to fly before it finally takes off and flies over a large water body before returning to its perch on the beach. The video was captured on the [HD HERO3+ GoPro camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hero-action-camera). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 80% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Wildlife POV Videos:** Opportunity for wildlife sanctuaries and content creators to produce unique and immersive content by using POV cameras on animals in their natural habitat. - **Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation:** Innovative use of technology like POV cameras can be utilized to help rehabilitate and release rescued animals back into the wild. - **Emotional Storytelling Through Technology:** Advancements in technology like POV cameras provide opportunity for emotionally moving storytelling by showing the world through the eyes of animals. ### Who This Affects Most - **Wildlife Sanctuaries:** Could adopt technology like POV cameras to create engaging content showcasing the work they do to rescue and rehabilitate animals. - **Content Creation:** Opportunity for content creators to produce unique and immersive wildlife content by using POV cameras on animals in their natural habitat. - **Consumer Technology Manufacturing:** Manufacturers could come up with specialized POV cameras for application in wildlife filmmaking and conservation efforts. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hummingbird Camera Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hum-bloom.md) - [360-Degree Camera Bird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdfy-feeder-vista.md) - [Smart Hummingbird Feeders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/feathersnap-hummingbird-feeder.md) - [Animal-Perspective Video Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imaging-system-1.md) - [Drone-Ready Action Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hero-10-black-bones.md) - [AI-Enhanced Bird Baths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdfy-bath-pro.md) - [AI-Powered Bird Feeder Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-bird-feeders.md) - [Tech Brand-Backed Films](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyond-the-fantasy.md) - [Compact Action Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gopro-hero-11-black-mini.md)
