Creating [typography out of matchsticks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/match-house), she invites viewers to interact with her art, to change its state by setting the words on fire. Much like pointillism, the [3D structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes) are made up of tiny red tips of the matches that will turn to black when burned. The words Pei-San Ng chose to display each convey meaning that alludes to their ultimate fiery experience. Ignite, Transformation and Creation -- the words each take on a deeper meaning when part of the word is eaten up by charcoal, literally transforming in color and texture. The artwork evokes feelings of excitement and destruction while remaining quite a simple design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 64% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Interactive Typography:** Embracing interactive elements in typography art allows for immersive and engaging experiences. - **Symbolic Art:** Art forms that convey deeper meanings through symbolism have the potential to evoke strong emotions and connections. - **Disruptive Materials:** Exploring unconventional materials like matchsticks in art opens up possibilities for unique and unexpected creations. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Visual Arts:** The visual arts industry can embrace interactive typography as a way to engage audiences and create memorable experiences. - **Art Galleries:** Art galleries can showcase symbolic art to attract viewers seeking deeper emotional connections to the artwork on display. - **Material Innovation:** The material innovation industry can explore the potential of unconventional materials, like matchsticks, for creative and disruptive applications beyond their traditional uses. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Exquisite Time Lapse Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xl-porcelain-candles.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Modern Poertic Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/virginia-sin.md) - [AI-Driven Ceramic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texttoclay.md) - [Interactive Typo Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loveegolov.md) - [Poignant Multimedia Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multimedia-art-installation.md) - [Fluid Function Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow.md) - [Concept-Driven Retail Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/miya-ando-x-saint-laurent.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md)
