# Bendy Benches Peelback Street Furniture Adds Curve Appeal to any City By Alex Scott | Published 2010-03-12 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peelback-street-furniture References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/Gallery/Peelback-Street-Furniture/395793) & [benthorpedesign](http://benthorpedesign.com) Sure, after you've been doing a walking tour of a city all day, there's nothing more appealing than a good bench. However, it's much nicer if that seat has some artistic flair rather than just being a ratty old thing like so many of them are. The Peelback Street Furniture would be a welcome sight to any city. With its [sleek metallic shine](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leftover-bench) and [extremely curvy design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strate-bench), the Peelback Street Furniture becomes an attraction all on its own. Placed in front of it is a plaque regarding the history of the [University of Central Lancashire](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/membran-collective) (assuming it was built by one of the students). Not too sure you can actually roll the bench though. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 43% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Design-driven Street Furniture:** Opportunity for designers to innovate and create unique, artistic street furniture that can enhance the cityscape. - **Interactive Public Art Installations:** Opportunity to integrate historical or educational information into street furniture and create interactive public art installations. - **Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Design:** Opportunity to design street furniture using sustainable materials and manufacturing processes, reducing waste and promoting eco-friendliness. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Furniture Industry:** Opportunity for manufacturers to develop new product lines of artistic and interactive street furniture. - **Tourism Industry:** Opportunity to promote cities with unique and artistic street furniture designs to attract tourists and enhance the overall tourism experience. - **Education Industry:** Opportunity to integrate historical and educational information into street furniture designs, enhancing the learning experience for students and promoting community engagement. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-public-seating.md) - [Chic Recycled Aluminum Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bello-bench.md) - [Adaptive Public Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/adp-bench.md) - [Contemporary Customization Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-benches.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Repurposed Brick Public Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-public-furniture.md) - [Muscle Loss-Combating Playground Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/playground-bench.md) - [Curvaceous Sculptural Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/strate-bench.md) - [Industrial Wrapped Plywood Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/indoor-bench.md)
