# Green Guitar Landscapes Pedro Martin Ureta's Unique Tribute Memoralizes a Great Love Lost By Meghan Young | Published 2011-05-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pedro-martin-ureta References: [bookofjoe](http://www.bookofjoe.com/2011/05/tree-guitar-23-of-a-mile-long-pays-tribute-to-a-lost-love.html) & [online.wsj](http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703859304576307251804750800.html) Only a great love could have inspired Pedro Martin Ureta to create a landscape modeled after a guitar. That is exactly what motivated this [Argentine farmer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farming-photographs), yet it wasn't a love for farming that spurred this amazing undertaking, nor was it a love for music and guitars. Instead, it was a love for his late wife Graciela Yraizoz. Pedro Martin Ureta embedded the design into his farm many years ago, just after his wife passed away due to a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. Since then, roughly 7,000 [cypress and eucalyptus trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sanctum-of-trees) have grown into this magnificent shape, stretching more than two-thirds of a mile long. Pedro Martin Ureta created this [giant green guitar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acoustic-guitar-models) because his wife once expressed wanting something like it when she flew over what looked like a milking pail long ago. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 96% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Emotional Landscaping:** Creating landscapes that carry emotional value as a disruption in the landscaping industry. - **Memorial Arboriculture:** Using trees and plants to commemorate an individual's life could disrupt the traditional ways of honoring the dead. - **Innovative Gardening:** New trends in gardening could emerge, emphasizing unique artistic designs and personal touches in outdoor spaces. ### Who This Affects Most - **Landscaping:** The landscaping industry could create new markets by offering emotional design options for their clients. - **Funeral and Cemetery:** The funeral and cemetery industry could incorporate memorial arboriculture as a sustainable and personalized way of honoring loved ones. - **Gardening and Horticulture:** The gardening and horticulture industry could focus more on artistic outdoor designs that provide emotional values for their customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playable Oak Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funeral-for-a-tree.md) - [Shreddable Steampunk Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-guitar.md) - [Recycled Guitar Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-guitar-1.md) - [Futuristic Abstract Musical Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeta-electric-guitar.md) - [Nostalgic Limited-Edition Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/limitededition-guitar.md) - [Plant-Powered MIDI Sound Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-hultn-tegel.md) - [Nightclub-Derived Wood Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-guitar.md) - [Reverent Rosewood Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rosewood-guitar.md) - [Contemporary Sculptural Shrines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-shrine.md)
