# Cycle on Water Shuttle Biking: Pedal in, Paddle Out By dane low | Published 2007-11-11 | Lifestyle Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pedding-in-paddling-out-shuttle-biking-the-new-blue References: [shuttlebike](http://www.shuttlebike.com/SHUTTLE-BIKE) Thinking of playing a good ol' fashioned game of Oregon Trail with a couple of friends? Only instead of horse-drawn carriages you are using mountain bikes? Look no further than what SBK Engineering has developed to ford those fjords: they call it the "Shuttle-Bike". Although, I figure a more appropriate name might be "Bi-SEA-cle" ...or "Hey! what's that guy doing on the lake with a bike? - thing". As the video will demonstrate, "shuttle-biking" is best done on the lake in cheetah leotards to soft-80s hits. So next time you are up shit creek without a paddle, pedal your way to safety with SBK Engineering. Thank you, Shuttle-Bike. See you on the water!...Cycling, of course. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Water Biking:** The development of the Shuttle-Bike highlights the trend of water biking as a unique recreational activity. - **Outdoor Adventure Sports:** The combination of cycling and paddling opens up opportunities for disruptive innovation in the outdoor adventure sports industry. - **Multi-functional Recreational Equipment:** The Shuttle-Bike represents a trend towards multi-functional recreational equipment that can be used on various terrains. ### Where This Applies - **Sports and Leisure:** The water biking trend presents opportunities for the sports and leisure industry to develop new products and experiences for outdoor enthusiasts. - **Tourism and Travel:** Water biking can be a unique attraction for tourist destinations near bodies of water, creating new opportunities in the tourism and travel industry. - **Outdoor Gear and Equipment:** The development of the Shuttle-Bike opens up possibilities for the outdoor gear and equipment industry to create innovative products that cater to adventurers seeking unique experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pedal-Assist Electric Water Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otter-bike-explorer.md) - [Electric Bike-Like Watercraft](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/envo-hydra-waterbike.md) - [Three-in-One Aquatic Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decathlon-x-outercraft-hydrobike.md) - [Rowing-Style Exercise Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rowing-bike.md) - [E-Trike Boat Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ztriton-20.md) - [Lightweight Electric Mountain Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shuttle-sl.md) - [Pedal-Powered Fishing Kayaks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/old-town-sportsman-bigwater-epdl-132.md) - [Rowing-Style Recumbent Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/varibike-extreme.md) - [Expanded E-Bike-Sharing Programs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bcycle.md)
