# Stone Waste Street Lights The Conceptual 'Pebble' Street Light Offers Ambient Illumination By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2023-06-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebble-street-light References: [tuvie](https://www.tuvie.com/pebble-street-lighting-made-of-natural-andesite-stone-waste/) & [linkedin](https://www.linkedin.com/in/gizem-deniz-guneri-38745a26/) The conceptual '[Pebble](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebbles-collection)' street light has been designed by Gizem Deniz Guneri Sogut as a fixture for urban areas to offer soft, ambient illumination in a naturalistic way. The large, bolder-like units are crafted out of [andesite stone waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nytt-lys) and are rounded with an imposing form that illumination components built into the side. The [rock-like illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-gem) would provide lighting at the ground level rather than from high above the streets to provide a softer form of brightness that would also reduce light pollution in cities. The conceptual 'Pebble' street light is capable of being installed either vertical or horizontally and would incorporate a naturalistic accent to any city street. This would help to make concrete environments feel more organic and inviting for citizens. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 48% | Activity: 8% | Freshness: 16% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Street Lighting:** The use of stone waste in street lights offers a sustainable solution for urban lighting. - **Ambient Illumination:** The 'Pebble' street light provides soft, naturalistic lighting that creates a soothing atmosphere. - **Reducing Light Pollution:** Installing ground-level street lights helps reduce light pollution in cities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Urban Lighting:** Stone waste street lights provide a new option for sustainable urban lighting solutions. - **Architecture and Landscape Design:** Designing city streets with naturalistic accents like the 'Pebble' street light enhances the overall aesthetic and ambiance. - **Environmental Conservation:** Using stone waste for street lights contributes to a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach to lighting in urban areas. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stone-Inspired Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stone-collection.md) - [Light Pollution-Reducing Island Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/island-lamp.md) - [Stone-Inspired Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karim-rashid-kobble.md) - [Modern Marble Waste Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sole-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Volcanic Stone Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foscarini-lava-lamps.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Sustainable Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/geolectric-lantern.md) - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md)
