# Avian-Inspired Privacy Chairs The 'Peacock Chair' Concept Offers Protection from Distractions By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2023-01-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peacock-chair-concept References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2023/01/01/peacock-chair-concept-gives-you-a-shroud-to-protect-you-from-distractions/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=peacock-chair-concept-gives-you-a-shroud-to-protect-you-from-distractions) The 'Peacock Chair' concept is a privacy-focused, anti-distraction seating solution perfect for classrooms, study halls and professional spaces alike as a way to help a person focus. The chair maintains a simple construction that's accented by an accordion-style shroud that can be flipped up when needed to provide noise isolation and visual privacy thanks to its felt design. The chair is thus perfect for being flipped up when taking a call or intensely studying and flipped down when the person is open to talking. The 'Peacock Chair' concept is the design work of Markus Melcher, Rob Shudra and Andrew Ferrier, and draws its aesthetic inspiration from the bird it shares a name with. This is thanks to its plumage-inspired privacy shade. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 43% | Freshness: 14% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Anti-distraction Solutions:** The 'Peacock Chair' concept demonstrates an opportunity for anti-distraction solutions in various settings. - **Privacy-focused Furniture:** The 'Peacock Chair' concept presents an opportunity for privacy-focused furniture design in the market. - **Aesthetically-inspired Designs:** The 'Peacock Chair' design highlights the potential for aesthetically-inspired furniture designs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Education:** The 'Peacock Chair' concept displays an opportunity for anti-distraction and privacy-focused furniture designs in educational settings. - **Office Furniture:** The 'Peacock Chair' concept showcases a potential for privacy-focused and aesthetically pleasing office furniture designs. - **Interior Design:** The 'Peacock Chair' highlights an opportunity for interior designers to create privacy-focused and aesthetically pleasing furniture designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Relaxed Anti-Distraction Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortune-chair.md) - [Cocoon-Like Workstation Hoods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/privacy-hood.md) - [Minimalist Privacy Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-seat-design.md) - [Contemporary Office Privacy Booths](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plenum-cabin-by-jaime-hayon-for-fritz-hansen.md) - [Natural Sound-Amplifying Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amplification-of-the-senses-chair.md) - [Personal Cubicle Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ma-camilla-isabel-reyes.md) - [Cocoon Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-introvert-chair.md) - [Quirky Solo Office Pods](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/work-capsules.md)
