Earlier this month, Bill Gates gifted South Korea president Lee Myung-bak *with "Peace"*, a special Microsoft Xbox video game console blinged out with traditional Korean mother-of-pearl. The piece is one of three similar Xboxes that are created by Korean artist Kim Young-jun: one for President Lee, one for Gates and another as a "just-in-case" spare, which he is holding onto himself. According to [Far East Gizmos](http://www.fareastgizmos.com/other_stuff/bill_gates_gifts_xbox_inlaid_with_traditional_korean_motherofpearl_to_korean_president.php), "Kim decorated the console with mother-of-pearl ume flowers and butterflies symbolizing patience and perseverance and treated the surface with a special substance. He entitled the final product "Peace"." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 56% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/games) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Blinged Out Gadgets:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create and market luxury and customized gadgets for high-profile individuals and leaders. - **Artistic Collaboration:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Foster collaborations between artists and technology companies to create unique and visually appealing products. - **Cultural Symbolism in Tech:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate traditional cultural elements and symbolism into technology products to appeal to specific markets. ### Who This Affects Most - **Luxury Tech:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop high-end technology products that cater to the luxury market, offering exclusive features and designs. - **Art and Technology:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the intersection of art and technology to create innovative and visually captivating consumer products. - **Cultural Heritage Tech:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Fuse technology with cultural heritage to develop products that preserve and celebrate traditional elements in modern ways. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Branded Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/branded-gaming-consoles.md) - [Gaming Console Timepieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microsoft-xbox-x-meister-watches.md) - [Celebrity-Branded Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roy-woods-capsule-collection.md) - [Celebratory Automotive Gaming Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porsche-x-xbox-consoles.md) - [Cartoon-Inspired Game Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spongebob-squarepants-xbox-series-x.md) - [Athlete-Backed Game Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lebron-james-game-console.md) - [Doll-Inspired Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/barbie-xbox-series-s.md) - [Chocolate-Themed Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonka-xbox-series-x-console.md) - [Collaboration Sci-Fi Gamer Consoles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microsoft-the-mandalorian-xbox.md)
