# Deformed Portable Fixtures PB Lamp by Dario Cavaliere Brings a Malleable Mobility to Illumination By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-01-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pb-lamp-by-dario-cavaliere References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/PB-Lamp/490731) The rooms of a home are dynamic spaces, designed to permit circulation and a range of activities from corner to corner. The PB Lamp by Dario Cavaliere caters to the evolving environment and provides a portable source of light for the user. It's difficult to know whether or not the designer had a plastic shopping bag in mind when he came up with the form for this object, but there is an apparent resemblance between the two. When viewed front-on, the iconic light fixture takes a bulging rectangular shape with an elliptical handle cut into the top. The PB Lamp by Dario Cavaliere may look a touch heavier than it actually is since the back takes a concave form to push out the illuminated facade. These lower corners help to keep the piece balanced, making it easy to carry around and place down as a floor lamp or a table lamp. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Malleable Lighting:** Designing flexible portable lamps with unconventional shapes. - **Lightweight Fixtures:** Developing easily portable lamps with advanced materials that are comfortable to carry. - **Dynamic Room Lighting:** Creating lamps that can be used flexibly and can be moved easily to light different parts of a room. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting and Fixtures:** Designing affordable, easy-to-use and portable light fixtures for both residential and commercial spaces. - **Home Decor:** Creating modern and comfortable designs for home lighting products. - **Sustainable Materials:** Developing environmental-friendly portable lamps for green conscious customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Portable Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parcel-portable-lamp.md) - [Compact Geometric Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivot-lamp.md) - [Ultra-Flexible Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anywhereuse-lamp.md) - [Conical Multifunctional Lamp Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-light.md) - [Malleable Connected Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pofu-lamp.md) - [Portable Pen-Holding Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pod-lamp-concept.md) - [Portable Wireless Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fsl-wireless.md) - [Comforting Multifunctional Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buddy-portable-lamp.md) - [Blooming Lighting Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavo.md)
