# Prismatic Mobile Pyramids The Pavilion 21 Mini Opera Space for the Munich Opera Festival 2010 By Katherinev123 | Published 2009-11-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavilion-21-mini-opera-space References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2009/11/17/pavilion-21-mini-opera-space-by-coop-himmelblau/) & [coop-himmelblau.at](http://www.coop-himmelblau.at/) It’s almost a shame that a building as gorgeous as the [Pavilion 21 Mini Opera Space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/srivan) is only temporary. This [mobile aluminum structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/what-goes-around-bandstand) was built by the Austrian architecture firm COOP HIMMELB(L)AU for the Munich Opera Festival 2010. According to Dezeen, the Pavilion 21 Mini Opera Space, which features a [multifunctional stage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opera-and-ballet-theatre-of-kosovo) and seats three hundred, is made up of shimmering pyramids that increase its surface area and reflect external sounds. It is meant only for the Opera Festival, but there is no word as to where exactly this prismatic structure will go once the festival is over (is there a place where beautiful temporary architecture goes to die?). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Mobile Architecture:** The creation of temporary architectural structures that are portable and easily movable. - **Reflective Design:** The use of surfaces that reflect off the environment in order to create a unique aesthetic and sound experience. - **Multifunctional Spaces:** Creation of spaces that can be transformed and used for multiple purposes, allowing for more flexibility and versatility of use. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Event Planning:** Creating portable and movable structures that can be used as event venues. - **Architecture:** Designing structures with unique and reflective surfaces that stand out from traditional buildings. - **Festivals:** Creating temporary structures for festival events that can be easily assembled and disassembled. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Tent-Like Exhibition Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bolack-pavilion.md) - [Code-Generated Pavilion Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-orb.md) - [Climate-Sensitive Pavilion Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/querkraft.md) - [Public Pavilion Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tess-pavilion.md) - [Lunar-Based Rotating Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion.md) - [Airborne Concert Halls](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arka-nova.md) - [Sculptural Photocoltaic Theater Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/opera-and-ballet-theatre-of-kosovo.md) - [Floating Opera Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/isola-della-musica.md)
