# Dual Stream Faucets The Pavati Tap by Salmon Nortje Looks Like a Futuristic Waterfall By Meghan Young | Published 2013-12-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pavati-tap References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/12/05/hot-and-cold-waterfall/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/SalmonNortje) The Pavati Tap is a sculptural faucet that is a combination between old-school designs involving two different taps for each temperature and more modern models combining the two for a more balanced experience. The result is a sculptural creation that releases what appears to be a stunning albeit miniature waterfall. Designed by Salmon Nortje, the Pavati Tap boasts a futuristic aesthetic as well. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if it showed up in the next big sci-fi movie. Shaped like a Y, "the dual waterfalls also lend themselves to becoming a visual indicator of the current water temperature," according to the designer. The two streams will vary depending on how much water is being used. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 77% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Combination Faucets:** The concept of combining two separate taps into one creates a more streamlined and balanced user experience. - **Sculptural Faucets:** Designing faucets with sculptural elements not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also adds a unique visual experience for users. - **Futuristic Waterfall Design:** Creating faucets inspired by futuristic aesthetics, like the Pavati Tap, adds a touch of innovation and visual interest to the mundane task of using water. ### Who This Affects Most - **Bathroom Fixtures:** The bathroom fixtures industry can explore the concept of combination faucets to offer consumers a more efficient and visually appealing option for their homes. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can incorporate sculptural faucets as statement pieces that elevate the overall aesthetic of bathrooms and kitchens. - **Movie Set Design:** The movie set design industry can utilize futuristic waterfall-like faucets, such as the Pavati Tap, to create visually stunning and immersive environments in sci-fi films. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Brass-Constructed Mixer Taps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faro-mixer.md) - [Abstract Industrial Faucet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formation-01-faucet.md) - [Frost-Proof Chic Faucet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/scandinavian-design-principles1.md) - [Stealthy Limited-Edition Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formation-01.md) - [Contemporary Sleek Mixer Taps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/botte-mixer.md) - [Enhanced Stylish Faucet Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omnibath.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Demure Hand Shower Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bell-jar-shower-head.md) - [Designer Water Purifier Faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumos-water-purifier.md)
