# Photorealist Pencil Sketches Paul Lung Could Replace Your Camera By Luisa Amanda Gomes | Published 2010-03-19 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-lung References: [sweet-station](http://www.sweet-station.com/blog/?p=11181) & [paullung.deviantart](http://paullung.deviantart.com/) If you have 60 hours to spare and Paul Lung in your pocket, you may never need another camera again. As I’m sure not too many of us have that much time--and Paul Lung in our household--we have to settle for checking out his gallery instead. Paul Lung is an incredibly talented artist; as you can see, his pencil sketches look almost photographic. I thought that I was looking at a series of detailed black and white photographs and since his sketches are so photorealistic, I’m still suspicious of that. Check out more of his amazingly detailed art at his DevianArt page. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Photorealistic Art:** The trend of creating artwork that is so lifelike it appears to be a photograph opens up opportunities for innovative techniques and mediums. - **Hand-drawn Realism:** The trend of artists creating hyper-realistic drawings by hand presents opportunities for new tools and technologies to enhance traditional art methods. - **Digital Realism:** The trend of using digital tools to create realistic art offers opportunities for the development of advanced software and hardware for artists. ### Who This Affects Most - **Fine Arts:** The fine arts industry can explore innovative techniques and mediums to enhance the creation of photorealistic artwork. - **Art Supplies:** The art supplies industry can develop new tools and technologies that help artists achieve hyper-realistic drawings by hand. - **Digital Art:** The digital art industry can focus on advancing software and hardware to enable artists to create realistic art digitally. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Realistic Sketch-Reflective Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-series.md) - [AI Line Drawing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencilify-ai.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Digital AI-Generated Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/picsart-1.md) - [Weather-Inspired Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/weatherinspired-art-exhibition.md) - [AI-Powered Sketch-To-Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawingpics.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Remixed Stealthy Camera Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leica-m-reimagined.md)
