# Biblical Balloon Art Photography Paul Graves' Modern Twist on ‘The Garden of Eden' By Sandra Winn | Published 2009-01-07 | Social Good Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-graves-balloon-garden-of-eden References: [urlesque](http://www.urlesque.com/2009/01/06/last-shot-balloon-garden-of-eden-i-think-we-can-post-balloon/) & [paulgravescreative](http://www.paulgravescreative.com/?photoid=1210) Photographer Paul Graves has given a modern art twist to a classical biblical story; he created a balloon-filled ‘Garden of Eden.’ In Graves’ [balloon art photos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog) of ‘Adam and Eve’, the bark of the ‘Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil’ was formed with dark and tan balloons; the leaves from dark and light green ones; and the forbidden fruit (which is *assumed* to be an apple) is deep red. Paul Graves’ [balloon serpent](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/serpentine-bell) looks quite ominous with long fangs and a dark red mouth as he temps Eve, who is wearing an anatomically correct rubber suit, to bite the forbidden fruit. In the meantime, a well-endowed and rubber-laden Adam is seen reaching for the fruit offered by Eve. Since Jesus, according to mainstream [Christian](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zero-collective) theology, was ‘with God in the beginning’, Graves included him too. However, his happy looking balloon Jesus, on a balloon cross, doesn’t quite fit with the Creation story—which may end up ruffling a few feathers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 10% men, 90% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Social Good](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialgood) > [Religious](https://www.trendhunter.com/religious) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Balloon Art:** The use of balloon art in photography presents new opportunities for creative expression and storytelling. - **Modern Twist:** Incorporating modern elements into classical stories, such as biblical narratives, can create engaging and thought-provoking art. - **Disruptive Photography:** Photographers can disrupt traditional photography norms by experimenting with unconventional materials and subject matters. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Photography:** The art and photography industry can explore new approaches and techniques by embracing balloon art and incorporating it into their work. - **Creative Storytelling:** Creative industries, such as film and advertising, can leverage unconventional twists on classical narratives to captivate audiences and communicate messages in unique ways. - **Religious Art and Design:** The religious art and design industry has the opportunity to push boundaries and challenge traditional representations by incorporating modern interpretations into their works. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Playful Balloon Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keff-joons.md) - [Spiky Inflatable Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-sculptures1.md) - [Artful Garden Inflatable Spheres](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/this-is-air.md) - [Immersive Balloon Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-story-popup.md) - [Biblical Tale-Inspired Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paire-house.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Monumental Air Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape.md)
