The Pattern Door Lock concept would enable you to come and go from your home without any need of a key. Certainly, technologies are already available that allow you to lighten your load in this way; however, many of them are prone to being compromised.

Kwon Hyuk-Sang's goal was to design a [passcode access method](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-dr2-max-retrofit-smart-lock) that could not be learned by observation. The priority was to hide the buttons so that no passer-by would be able to see the PIN that is input into the [modern combination locking system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-lock-technology).

Keeping the door itself looking sleek and simple, the mechanism is actually embedded into the back of the [elongated knob](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aqara-smart-lock-u300). The homeowner can grasp the Pattern Door Lock and press the four buttons with each of his fingers, initiating entry without revealing a thing.
