# Curvaceous Patio Chairs This Patio Chair Design Boasts an Unconventional Shape By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2014-10-29 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patio-chair-design References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/bocca-chair-bar-stool-by-gaga-design/) & [gagaanddesign](http://www.gagaanddesign.com) Gaga & Design's [patio chair designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-outdoor-furniture) feature lots of unusual curves and more open space than you might think you can get away with on a chair. As well as bring extremely interesting to look at, the chairs are waterproof and are suitable for use both indoors and out. The chair has a zinc-plated, powder-coated steel frame base that supports an [organically woven seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopy-chair) and back. One of the most unexpected details in the design is the space between the seat and the base, which could easily be used to store a magazine or other reading material. The Bocca chair also has a look that resembles a [bar stool design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/atypical-chair) by Neil Nenner, although this structure is a lot simpler. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Unconventional Chair Designs:** This trend presents opportunities for creating unique and eye-catching chair designs that challenge traditional norms. - **Indoor-outdoor Furniture:** Furniture that seamlessly transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces offers convenience and versatility for consumers. - **Innovative Storage Solutions:** The incorporation of clever storage features in furniture designs provides practicality and functionality for users. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore new possibilities in creating unconventional chair designs that capture consumer attention. - **Home Decor:** The indoor-outdoor furniture trend presents opportunities for retailers to offer versatile and stylish pieces that cater to modern living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Innovative storage solutions in furniture design can enhance the functionality and aesthetics of interior spaces, providing opportunities for interior designers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Curvaceous Padded Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/talk-chair.md) - [Cuvaceous Lined Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rita-arm-chair.md) - [Durable Designer Outdoor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeo-x-series-chair.md) - [Modernized Outdoor Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pedrali-nar-chair-6360.md) - [Comfort-Focused Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-grapy-lounge-chair.md) - [Traditional Vibrant Outdoor Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/net-lounge.md) - [Uniquely Structured Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yay-chair.md) - [Drink-Holding Outdoor Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lago-lounge-chair.md)
