I never really thought of what happened to old leather until I saw Patch from HeyTeam. Patch upcycles old leather items and turns them into new pillows.

The pillows themselves contain many different strips of leather, giving them a Frankenstein-esque look and feel. Still, looks are not all that important when you consider how much leather is being kept out of landfills.

Patch from HeyTeam is a great project because it gives clothing manufacturers an incentive to keep their [leftover scraps of clothing](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coachtopia-1) and make them into something more, as opposed to just dumping them in the trash. With the world taking an increasingly eco-friendly stance, it should not be hard to find people willing to [cover their couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/denimupholstered-sofas) with [upcycled leather pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillow-cover).
