A group of biology researchers and engineers working out of Umea University in Sweden managed to create a delicious pasta and vegetable meal that featured a unique ingredient that could point towards a revolution in food technology, namely special cabbage that had its genomes edited in order to remove certain genetic mutations and make the vegetable more healthy.

The key cabbage ingredient was manipulated to have a particular protein removed, something that could potentially help the cabbage contribute towards protection against retinal problems and muscular dystrophy without meddling with its taste and flavor profile.
