The newest Pass the Baton in Kyoto is the third [recycled clothing store](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cos-2) for the franchise. Although second-hand shops are nothing new in Japan, Pass the Baton has carved out a niche in its sale of higher end, upcycled clothing and products. This unique store doesn't hide the fact that it is a recycled clothing depot and even includes a small description of the garment's previous owner on the tag.

This particular Pass the Baton in Kyoto is built in a [reclaimed townhouse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studio-aluc) that contrasts its traditional design with textured finishings. From the outside, the store blends in with the area's bustling restaurant scene. Once inside however, customers are welcomed by a [small cafe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haus-coffee) as well as a myriad of carefully curated Japanese products.
