# Avian-Inspired TVs The 'Parotia' TV Unit Offers a Place to Store Small Decor items and More By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2018-05-09 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parotia-tv-unit References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2018/05/09/a-television-unit-thats-inspired-by-nature/) Traditional TV sets often offered ample space to store peripherals for playing media and accessing cable which are quickly becoming pastimes of the past, so the conceptual 'Parotia' TV Unit imagines something different. Featuring a [retro design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loewe-stellar-tv) that's inspired by the jowl of the parotia bird it's named after, the TV embraces being a focal point in a living space to make the most of every inch of space. This is achieved by integrating four legs into the base rather than [mounting it on the wall](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/displace-hub) and offering a small ledge for placing small decor items to further integrate it into your space. The conceptual 'Parotia' TV Unit is the design work of Burak Kocak and identifies what can be done to bring a slightly natural aesthetic to our modern technology. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Multimedia](https://www.trendhunter.com/multimedia) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Retro-inspired TV Designs:** Designing TV units with a retro aesthetic can create a unique focal point in a living space and optimize space usage. - **Integrated Storage Solutions:** Integrating shelves or ledges into TV units offers space for storing small decor items, optimizing functionality and design. - **Nature-inspired Technology:** Incorporating natural aesthetics in modern technology designs, like avian-inspired TV units, can bring a touch of uniqueness and appeal to consumers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore producing TV units with integrated storage solutions and retro designs to appeal to consumers seeking both functionality and style in their living spaces. - **Electronics Retail:** Electronics retailers can offer avian-inspired TV units as a niche product to cater to customers looking for unique, nature-inspired technology designs for their homes. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can recommend retro-inspired TV units to clients who desire a distinct focal point in their living spaces, combining technology with aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Space-Dividing Rolling TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vifa-skyline.md) - [Retractable Screen TV Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-giro.md) - [Movable Room Divider TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trolley-tv.md) - [Next-Generation TV Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oled-shelf-concept.md) - [Artistic Easel Home Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/movable-home-display.md) - [Sculptural Folding TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c-seed-n1.md) - [Remote-Holding Streaming Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-art-tv-box.md) - [Multipurpose Compact Televisions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/souround.md) - [Birdcage-Inspired Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-intelligent-sound-box.md)
