# Radar-Sensing Dash Cams Thinkware Adds Radar-Based Parking Protection To Its Latest Dash Cam By Ellen Smith | Written with AI assistance | Published 2026-10-08 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parking-threat-dash-cams References: [gadgetify](https://www.gadgetify.com/thinkware-arc700) Thinkware is expanding dash cams with the ARC700, a car camera that keeps gathering evidence after you park by using radar to notice approaching vehicles. That gives drivers another way to document what happens around the car instead of relying only on footage captured while driving. [Front and rear cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/70mai-dash-cam-4k-omni) help frame incidents from more than one angle, which matters when the action starts outside the driver's view. Its radar can react to cars approaching within 7 m, so recording can begin before contact rather than after it. That makes parked-car footage more useful when the lead-up matters as much as the hit itself. The ARC700 combines everyday driving footage with [parking protection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wifi-cameras) in a single device, giving drivers coverage while they are on the road and when the car is left unattended. Its [radar-based detection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collision-prevention-system) also shifts parking mode from simply recording after an incident to capturing more of what happens immediately beforehand.
