Remixing the art movement's opulent visual aesthetic, the Vienna-based team works alongside local architect, artist and author Milan Mijalkovic to create a [parking garage with a decorative facade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/octa-house). The bold facade is accented with decorative vignettes that catch one's eye instantly while referencing a traditionally [baroque aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forum-des-vestiges). With an aim to pay homage the Macedonian city's culture, the proposed Parkhaus Skopje parking complex fuses the country's history with modern day ideas and innovations. The multi-layered building covers its steel structural framing with composite panels that are penetrated by light during the day while illuminating into a glowing architecture piece during evening hours. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 24% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Baroque Remix Architecture:** An opportunity for architects and designers to implement baroque inspiration while incorporating modern day ideas. - **Decorative Facade Vignettes:** Innovative way to add ornamental details to architectural facades and buildings. - **Composite Material Panels:** A sustainable solution to traditional concrete walls used in construction with the added benefit of lighting during nighttime hours. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Incorporating time-honored architectural styles with modern-day ideas offers a new and exciting direction in architecture. - **Construction:** The use of composite material panels offers a sustainable solution to construction materials with the added benefit of lighting during nighttime hours. - **Art and Design:** The use of decorative facade vignettes in architecture offers opportunities for artists and designers to collaborate and incorporate unique and creative elements in buildings and structures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Geometric Garage Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-two-cars-garage.md) - [Futuristic Baroque Rome Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/romeo-hotel-roma.md) - [Park-Covered Structural Buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ola-palermo.md) - [Adaptive Parking Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niels-bohr-car-park.md) - [Jagget Metal Museum Entrances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baroque-museum-of-catalonia.md) - [Gridded Urban Apartment Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-carboneria.md) - [Fish Scale-Resembling Facades](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/istanbul-modern.md) - [Public Sculptural Pergola Barbecues](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/communal-barbecue.md) - [Color-Blocked Contemporary Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mkg.md)
