The Colorado, United States-based creator mixes painting and sculpture to fabric box-like pieces that can be mounted on the wall or located in an open field. These large pieces are composed of colorful blocks arranged in different patterns to give the illusion of dimension and volume. Made of welded aluminum and measuring around 3-1/4 inches, these pieces are playful and entertaining because of their bold hues and optical effect. The abstract work by Pad Morrison feels dynamic and fresh—a simple way to inject energy and color into the home. Also, geometric figures have an inevitable futuristic touch to them, which makes Morrison’s sculptures timeless, yet modern. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 84% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **3D Geometric Art:** The 3D geometric trend in art presents an opportunity to create innovative art pieces that incorporate geometric shapes and primary colors. - **Optical Illusion Sculptures:** Creating sculptures that play with optical illusion present opportunities to explore the intersection of art and science and create innovative, mind-bending pieces. - **Multidimensional Art:** Blending painting and sculpture to create multidimensional art pieces presents opportunities to push boundaries in the world of art and create truly unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art:** Creating three-dimensional art pieces presents opportunities for artists to push boundaries and create innovative, dynamic works. - **Home Decor:** Incorporating 3D geometric art into home decor presents an opportunity to add a timeless yet modern touch to living spaces. - **Public Art:** Creating optical illusion sculptures for public spaces presents an opportunity to provide interactive, thought-provoking art for the community. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intersecting Dimensional Art Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diorama.md) - [Geometric Sculpture Boxes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illusion-box.md) - [3D-Printed Ethereal Floating Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prairie-cord.md) - [Gem-Like Sculptural Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cylindrical-lenses.md) - [Sculptural Geometry Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape-lamp.md) - [Limited 3D-Printed Ceramic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dyadic-series.md) - [Vibrantly Colorful Dynamic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kayla-rumpp.md) - [Dynamic Mathematically Shaped Surfaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mathematically-shaped.md) - [Psychedelic Sculptural Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frank-stella-recent-sculpture.md)
