# Sinuous Sculptural Saucers Paranello Ruscello Espresso Set Revives the Elegance of Sipping Coffee By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-07-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paranello-ruscello-espresso-set References: [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Ruscello/2518273) North Americans are probably the worst where it concerns failing to appreciate a good cup of coffee. Perhaps the use of the Paranello Ruscello Espresso Set will remind drinkers of the art of a quality cuppa and the sophisticated practice of sipping it slowly and thoughtfully. Julien Gueuning's design is modern and elegant, comprising a [smooth white demitasse](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-mug) that broadens to the rim and features a flat hole-less handle. It's accented with a pair of small circles that is also incised into one model of the wave-shaped saucer. Both versions of the little undulating platter take exquisite curving forms, with one style including a [flat plate extension](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carrousel-flatware) on top. The Paranello Ruscello Espresso Set serves up extra space on its lengthy rectangular base for biscotti and the placement of a spoon. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modern and Elegant Design:** Opportunity for designers to create modern and elegant designs that revitalize traditional practices. - **Appreciation for Quality Coffee:** Opportunity for coffee brands to educate and appeal to consumers about the art and enjoyment of drinking quality coffee. - **Sophisticated Coffee Rituals:** Opportunity for cafes and coffee shops to promote and offer a unique and sophisticated coffee drinking experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Design Industry:** Opportunity for designers to create innovative and visually appealing coffee sets that capture attention and evoke elegance. - **Coffee Industry:** Opportunity for coffee brands to market and sell premium coffee products that encourage the appreciation of quality coffee. - **Hospitality Industry:** Opportunity for cafes and coffee shops to differentiate themselves by offering a more sophisticated and refined coffee experience to attract discerning customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Curvaceously Ergonomic Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/porcelain-tumbler.md) - [Spiral Coffee Brewers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/italian-moka-coffee-pot.md) - [Wavy Sculptural Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables.md) - [Surrealist-Inspired Tea Pots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tea-for-two-collection.md) - [Modern Espresso Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-cupola.md) - [Precision Manual Espresso Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allmetal-espresso-maker.md) - [Desk Thermo Tumblers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alessi-buri-tumbler.md) - [Pleated High-Fashion Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alessi-pliss-milk-frother.md) - [Tranquil Design Coffee Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zenbrew-coffee-maker.md)
