# Furled Mattress Furnishings The Paq Chair is an Engaging Adabtable Object for Transitional Spaces By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-03-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paq-chair References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/paq-chair-bed/2045395) The conventional pullout couch wishes it could be the Paq Chair -- a [compact piece of furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pillowsac-chair-jr) that is comfortable, fun and sufficiently practical to pull off two functions successfully. The first qualities can be a tall order for any object, let alone one intended to multitask. Consider it first as a mattress. It's 10 centimeters thick with a [removable cover and soft foam padding](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-collection-1) to keep you cozy. It sleeps one and comes with a convenient cylindrical drum as a bedside table. Now roll Geza Csire's Paq Chair up, zip the ends together around the barrel, tuck the top in and you've got yourself a plushy and supportive seat. The flexible furnishing is ideal for homes with [limited space for overnight guest accommodation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coddle-luke-sleeper-sofa). It remains useful in either arrangement, or can alternatively be curled up tightly in its container for better storage. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Multifunctional Furnishings:** The Paq Chair exemplifies the potential for furniture that can serve multiple purposes in small living spaces. - **Flexible Design:** Geza Csire's Paq Chair shows the value of furniture that can adapt to different needs and environments. - **Space-saving Solutions:** The compact and easily stored Paq Chair is part of a trend towards furniture that makes the most of limited living space. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture companies can leverage the demand for compact and flexible furniture to create new product lines and win over consumers with small living spaces. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate multifunctional and space-saving furnishings like the Paq Chair into their projects to make the most of limited space without sacrificing style or comfort. - **Home Sharing and Vacation Rentals:** Companies in the home sharing and vacation rental industries can take advantage of the Paq Chair and similar furnishings as a cost-effective and space-efficient way to accommodate guests in small spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Simple Multifunctional Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chairpf.md) - [Compact Collapsing Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acordion-modular-sofa.md) - [Envelope-Packaged Couch Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/couch-in-an-envelope.md) - [Sleep-Inclusive Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eclipse-capsule.md) - [Comforting Adaptable Sofa Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bird-reincarnation-3way-sofa-bed.md) - [Sliding Flatpack Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folio-chair.md) - [Adventurous Versatile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat.md) - [High-Quality Flatpack Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pagoda-chair.md) - [Space-Saving Convertible Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/coddle-luke-sleeper-sofa.md)
