The dispenser works by having a traditional roll of paper towels loaded into the appliance and turned on. From here, it will automatically go to work providing single sheets of paper towel whenever you wave your hand in front of it thanks to the [motion-activated technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toilet-lid-closer). The Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser helps to [eliminate waste](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquifill) by only dispensing one paper towel at a time. If you request more than one but have unused portions remaining, the appliance will automatically retract them into the unit for use another time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Motion-activated Kitchen Appliances:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop more kitchen appliances that use motion-activated technology for convenience and efficiency. - **Eliminating Waste in Household Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create products that reduce waste by dispensing only the required amount, minimizing environmental impact. - **Hands-free Kitchen Tools:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Invent hands-free kitchen tools that enhance convenience and hygiene in the cooking process. ### Where This Applies - **Home Appliance:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionize the home appliance industry by incorporating motion-activated features into various products. - **Paper Product:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Transform the paper product industry by developing automated dispensers that minimize wastage and improve user convenience. - **Kitchen Utensil:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Redefine the kitchen utensil industry by creating hands-free tools that enhance efficiency and cleanliness. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Automated At-Home Soap Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-soap-pump.md) - [Hygienic At-Home Hand Dryers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-towel-hand-dryer.md) - [2-in-1 Paper Towel Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-towel-holder-paper-towel-holder-with-spray-bottle.md) - [Smart-Designed Handwash Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-designed-handwash-dispenser.md) - [Compostable Cutlery Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cutlery-dispenser.md) - [Compact Cutlery Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cutlery-station.md) - [Smart Water-Dispensing Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ice-and-water-dispenser.md) - [AI-Powered Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/go-one-touch-washing-machine.md) - [AI-Powered Sanitizer Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/igiene-hand-sanitizer-dispenser.md)
