The art installation is made up of countless, paper kites that are transformed into vibrantly mapped and topographic scenes. The [paper sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves) are inspired by an ancient Japanese tradition that calls on fathers to gift paper kites to their first-born son. When asking his own father for career tips, Hashimoto was told to "build kites" and fell in love with this newfound hobby. His latest art installation immerses one into a world of vivid hues and paper elements. Each of his kite compositions is textural and is tiled across his gallery space. The result is a sensory and interactive installation that takes one into a room, made of countless kite fragments. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 48% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Immersive Art Installations:** Opportunity to create sensory and interactive experiences in art installations using unconventional materials. - **Reviving Ancient Traditions:** Opportunity to bring back and utilize traditional practices in creating modern art installations. - **Interactive Sculptures:** Opportunity to create immersive and transformative art installations that invite viewers to interact with them. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Opportunity for artists to incorporate unconventional materials and techniques in creating their works. - **Interactive Technology:** Opportunity to incorporate technology in creating immersive and interactive installations. - **Event Planning and Design:** Opportunity to create unique and experiential installations for events. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Seasonal Interactive Fashion Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washi-paper.md) - [Monumental Air Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Kumiko Craft Structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/timevase.md) - [Paper-Inspired Artful Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-papirkunst.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Intricate Site-Specific Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-time.md) - [Pointy Paper Lantern Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-lantern-pavilion.md)
