# Paper-Made Food Sculptures Spanish Artist Brings Colorful Groceries to Life Using Paper By Farida Helmy | Published 2014-01-22 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-craft References: [theinspirationgrid](http://theinspirationgrid.com/paper-craft-sculptures-by-maria-laura-benavente/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/mililitros) Spanish visual artist, illustrator and photographer Maria Laura Benavente brings our grocery list to life with her life-like [3D paper craft design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes) creations. The paper craft designs are so [real and so vibrant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pantlers-rations) that you want to set them up as decor on your kitchen counter instead of the real less-perfect produce and deli supplies you find in supermarket aisles. Having made these delightful designs for clients, Benavente's simple almost childlike details make the sculptures all the more fun and dynamic. Maybe supermarkets should take a hint and start using [edible and hunger-inducing sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dish-pics) as icons or symbols for each aisle to make the shopping experience more pleasurable, and to give something for kids to marvel over. These paper craft designs could also be used for real estate showings to give the kitchen counter a pop of color and a homier feel. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **3D Paper Craft Design:** The trend of creating life-like 3D paper craft designs is disrupting the art and design industry, offering innovative ways to bring grocery lists and home decor to life. - **Edible Sculptures:** The trend of using edible sculptures in supermarkets is creating disruptive innovations for the food and retail industry, offering a more enjoyable shopping experience for customers. - **Real Estate Showings with Paper Craft Designs:** The trend of using paper craft designs in real estate showings is creating innovative ways to add color and a homier feel to home interiors, disrupting the real estate industry. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can use the trend of creating life-like 3D paper craft designs to produce innovative and creative designs for various products and clients. - **Food and Retail:** The food and retail industry can use the trend of using edible sculptures to create a more enjoyable shopping experience for customers and innovative ways of displaying products. - **Real Estate:** The real estate industry can use the trend of using paper craft designs in real estate showings to create innovative ways of adding color and a homier feel to home interiors, creating a more enjoyable and memorable experience for clients. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Hyperrealistic Food Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/looks-delicious.md) - [Sophisticated Upcycled Home Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures.md) - [Food-Inspired Brand Imagery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cooking-clases-barcelona-venue.md) - [Crystal-Adorned Crushed Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sam-keller.md) - [Paper Curvature Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-curves.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Cardboard-Inspired Ceramic Household Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-collection.md) - [Delicate Basket Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculpture.md)
