The Paper Chair reminds me of dry, rocky planes and cool, cavernous caves. [Organic and undulating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/undia), its surface seems like something Mother Nature would have crafted. Of course, however, only a human would create something so interestingly hypnotic with its [swirling, zebra-like lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kartela).

That human happens to be Danish designer Mathias Bengtsson. The Paper Chair is just one of his most recent creations, which was featured in The Wall Street Journal High-Tech, Avant-Garde Design and Architecture article.

The Paper Chair was, not so surprisingly, fashioned out of paper. What is impressive is the sheer amount of [recycled paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bultan-chair) used on the seat. Thousands of sheets were glued together under heat and high pressure, without any frame, joint or screws.
