Able to make something so realistic and beautifully crafted out of the most ordinary and mundane material, the paper artwork series blurs the lines between photography and nature to create a breathtaking final product. The 'Paper Mountains' series is a set of printed images of the [peaks and shadows of different mountains](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whispering-mountains) in the American West Coast, New Zealand and Iceland that have been worked and crumpled to achieve this unique effect. The stark imagery in the series looks like it is devoid of life to portray the photographer's message of how human nature has reached such bleak peaks. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Paper Art:** The use of paper art in photography offers new opportunities for creating unique visuals and 3D images. - **Sustainability Art:** Creating art from waste materials like paper offers opportunities for sustainable living and eco-friendly entrepreneurship. - **Mixed Media:** Combining different mediums like paper, photography and nature offers opportunities for new forms of creative expression and innovation. ### Where This Applies - **Fine Arts:** The use of paper art in photography presents opportunities for new markets in fine art and art exhibitions. - **Photography:** The use of paper art in photography offers opportunities for commercial photography and advertising. - **Education and Entertainment:** The popularity of paper art offers opportunities for entertainment and educational experiences, such as museum installations and art workshops. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Sculptural Mixed-Media Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folded-echoes.md) - [Origami-Inspired Ceramics](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-series.md) - [Origami-Inspired Porcelain Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/saori-matsushita.md) - [Paper-Inspired Artful Museums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/museum-for-papirkunst.md) - [Interactive Architectural Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-landscape.md) - [Meticulous Paper-Stacked Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paragraphic-in-four-stacks.md)
