# Double-sided Furnishings The Paolo Cappello Tilta Bookcase Contains Space on Separate Ends By Jordy E | Published 2015-05-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paolo-cappello References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/tilta-double-sided-freestanding-bookcase/) & [paolocappello](http://www.paolocappello.com/portfolio_page/tilta) The [Paolo Cappello](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/haibu) Tilta bookcase allows users to store household items on two separate sides. The [freestanding bookcase](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ratio-series) is entirely open, hence its capacity to shelve objects from different directions and angles. Given the physically unenclosed and large nature of Tilta, it can also act as a separator, dividing rooms on either end of the piece. Depending on one's preference, it can also be mounted on to walls within homes. The [wooden beams are slightly tilted](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life), allowing household wares to be stacked in numerous formations. This adds even more visual appeal to this unmatched Paolo Cappello design. Whether left barren or stacked full, the striking layout of this furnishing concept will attract attention while also serving a critical functional purpose. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 74% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Double-sided Furnishings:** The trend of double-sided furnishings provides an opportunity for innovative designs that offer versatile storage and functional separation. - **Open Shelving:** The trend of open shelving allows for creative arrangements and visually appealing storage solutions. - **Multi-purpose Furniture:** The trend of multi-purpose furniture, like the Paolo Cappello Tilta bookcase, provides an opportunity to maximize space and functionality in homes. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can explore the trend of double-sided furnishings to create unique and functional spaces for clients. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The furniture manufacturing industry can incorporate open shelving into their designs to meet the demand for visually appealing and versatile storage solutions. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can capitalize on the trend of multi-purpose furniture by offering innovative and space-saving designs for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Expandable Bookcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burrow-index-bookcase.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md) - [Bookshelf-Incorporated Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/overlap-table.md) - [Room-Dividing Bookshelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frquence-shelf.md) - [Modular Configuration Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/repisa-01.md) - [Dual-Position Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/furniture-design-concept.md) - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md)
