# Revolutionary Animal Portraits Panda Revolution Makes Propoganda Posters Cute and Cuddly By Michael Hines | Published 2011-05-16 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panda-revolution References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/its-a-panda-revolution) & [xiaobaosg.deviantart](http://xiaobaosg.deviantart.com/) It is going to be hard for me to look at a panda and not think of a revolutionary after seeing Panda Revolution from Xiaobaosg. Xiaobaosg is a Singaporean artist who has taken [vintage propaganda posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pocket-protests) and made them look hilariously ridiculous by swapping out people for pandas. Pandas are already one of nature's most awesome animals, but when you dress them up as revolutionaries, their cool factor is upped by 10. These posters are modeled after ones used in the former Soviet Union, China and the U.S., with most having a vintage Cold War look to them. My favorite posters are easily the Soviet Union-inspired ones, as there is just something about a panda dressed up as a [cosmonaut](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan) that gets me every time. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 94% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Revolutionary Animal Portraits:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore the trend of merging art with propaganda to create unique and humorous visuals. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new techniques or platforms to combine vintage propaganda styles with animal imagery. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Asian Cuisine Merch Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panda-express-x-uprisers-cozy-collection.md) - [Birthday Collectible Drops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/labubu-panda-twins.md) - [Interactive Panda Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panda-oreos.md) - [Panda-Inspired Retro Car Conepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/megapanda.md) - [Birthday-Edition Toy Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/labubu-x-panda-twins.md) - [Bionic Panda Cubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anan-bionic-panda-cub.md) - [Animal-Inspired Habitat Lip Balms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/endangered-animal-lip-balm.md) - [Plant-Based Orange Chicken Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plantbased-orange-chicken-campaign.md) - [Chinese Heritage-Inspired QSR Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panda-home.md)
