The amount of detail put in his work creates pancake portraits that can be easily mistaken for actual pictures of characters. Interestingly, Drake takes his talents on the road and is available to make [pancake art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artful-cake) at parties and entertainment venues -- treating his pancake masterpieces as a form of performance art. Most of Drake's pancake portraits depict characters from TV shows and movies but also include celebrity duplicates. In creating his art work, Drake puts different colored pancake batter in squeeze bottles. He then intricately layers the batter onto a griddle which he completes by baking his ingredients. When examining the artist's work, it's difficult to believe that these incredibly accurate and realistic portraits are actually edible treats. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.0/10 - Popularity: 44% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Edible Art:** The trend of creating intricate art with food that is not only visually appealing but also edible, creating new opportunities for pastry chefs and food artists to showcase their skills. - **Performance Food Art:** The trend of chefs and food artists taking their talents on the road and treating food as a performance art, creating new opportunities for catering and entertainment industries to offer unique experiences. - **Character Portraits:** The trend of creating pancake portraits that depict characters from pop culture, creating new opportunities for licensed merchandise and fan engagement. ### Where This Applies - **Food and Beverage:** The food and beverage industry can leverage the trend of creating edible art to offer visually-stunning and unique dishes that appeal to consumers' aesthetic preferences. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can capitalize on the trend of performance food art by incorporating it into events and parties to provide a memorable and immersive experience for attendees. - **Merchandise:** The trend of creating character portraits using pancake art presents new opportunities for licensing and merchandise agreements with popular TV shows and movies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gourmet Pancake Stack Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fancy-pancake-menu.md) - [Heat-and-Eat Prepackaged Pancakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abracadebora-pancakes.md) - [American-Style Breakfast Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/american-style-pancake-mix.md) - [Cake-Inspired Pancake Stacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boston-cream-pie-pancakes.md) - [Pancake-Warming Hoodie Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/holiday-inn-express-1.md) - [Pancake House Getaways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggo-house-of-pancakes.md) - [Collaborative Pancake-Themed Streetwear](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mr-eatwell.md) - [Pancake-Cookie Hybrids](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cookie-hybrid.md) - [All-Day Pancake Tacos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pancake-tacos.md)
