In this latest work of food art, Pancake Bot recreates President Barack Obama's face entirely out of pancake batter. During Obama's race for presidency, graffiti artist Shepard Fairey created a visually appealing blue and red illustration of Obama using color blocking. The poster, attached to the promising slogan 'HOPE,' became an viral trademark for Obama's campaign. Pancake Bot turns Fairey's celebrate chromatic portrait into an edible work of art using pancake batter. To recreate Obama's face, Pancake Bot uses squirt bottles so the pancake batter can be applied to the pan as paint. To create shadows, the darker portions of the portrait are left to cook longer on the grill. The end result is a breathtaking recreation of Obama's HOPE poster image. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Edible Portraits:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a food printing technology that can create detailed edible portraits using various food ingredients. - **Digital Food Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design an app or software that allows users to create digital art using food as the medium, providing a unique and interactive way to showcase creativity. - **Interactive Culinary Experiences:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create immersive dining experiences that combine art, technology, and food, offering customers a unique and memorable way to engage with culinary artistry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Food Printing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop advanced food printing technologies that allow chefs and artists to create intricate edible designs. - **Art-tech Integration:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Merge art and technology to create innovative platforms or tools that enable artists to explore new mediums in their creative expressions. - **Experiential Dining:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Transform the traditional dining experience by offering immersive and interactive culinary adventures that blur the lines between culinary art, entertainment, and technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Patriotic Fruit-Packed Pancakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-white-blueberry-pancakes.md) - [Pancake-Centric Health Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pancakes-against-breast-cancer.md) - [Patriotic Pancake Dishes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-white-berry-pancake-slam.md) - [Gourmet Pancake Stack Menus](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fancy-pancake-menu.md) - [Pancake House Getaways](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eggo-house-of-pancakes.md) - [Crispy Cookie Butter Pancakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ihop-cookie-butter-pancakes.md) - [Bacon-Themed Pancake Specials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-graceland-pancake.md) - [American-Style Breakfast Mixes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/american-style-pancake-mix.md) - [Cake-Inspired Pancake Stacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boston-cream-pie-pancakes.md)
