# Wearable Action Cameras The Panasonic HX-A1 is a Durable and Compact Wearable Camera By Rahul Kalvapalle | Published 2015-04-17 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panasonic-hxa1 References: [gizmag](http://www.gizmag.com/panasonic-hx-a1-actioncam-pov/36989/) & [shop.panasonic](http://shop.panasonic.com/cameras-and-camcorders/camcorders/HX-A1.html) The [Panasonic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panasonic-lumix-bs1h) HX-A1 is a tough and compact [action camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insta360-go-ultra) that is also wearable, doing away with a cable-connected screen in favor of a self-contained cylinder that doesn't significantly add to your payload. The camera has a special night mode that lets you record footage in complete darkness, which is useful if you're exploring a cave or filming nocturnal wildlife in a forest. Built-in WiFi makes it easy for you to share your footage. Given that [wearable cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-urban-eyes-vest) are most likely to be used for filming bungee jumps and skiing expeditions rather than dandelions swinging in a cool summer breeze in the meadow, it's crucial that they be durable. The Panasonic HX-A1 has a tough compact body that safely houses all the technology needed to record Full HD point-of-view footage. This camera ensures that you can focus on having a great time and performing mad stunts while focusing on your own safety rather than that of your camera. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 65% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Compact Action Cameras:** The trend of compact action cameras creates opportunities for the development of smaller, more durable and user-friendly wearable cameras. - **Night Mode Technology:** The trend of night mode technology in action cameras presents opportunities for capturing high-quality footage in dark environments, enabling users to explore and film nocturnal activities with ease. - **Built-in Wifi Connectivity:** The trend of built-in WiFi connectivity in wearable cameras provides opportunities for easy sharing and streaming of footage in real-time. ### Who This Affects Most - **Outdoor Adventure:** The outdoor adventure industry can benefit from compact action cameras that are rugged and suitable for various extreme activities, allowing adventurers to capture and share their experiences. - **Wildlife Filmmaking:** Compact action cameras with night mode technology offer opportunities for wildlife filmmakers to document nocturnal animals and their activities in challenging environments. - **Social Media Content Creation:** The rise of built-in WiFi connectivity in wearable cameras opens up opportunities for social media influencers and content creators to share their adventures and experiences in real-time. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Handsfree Miniature Wearable Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dji-osmo-nano.md) - [Lightweight 360-Degree Action Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insta360-x4-air.md) - [Ultra-Durable Action Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insta360-x5.md) - [Pocket-Friendly UHD Action Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/5k-action-camera.md) - [Extreme Condition Creator Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xtra-atto.md) - [Durable Waterproof Action Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/akaso-brave-8-4k.md) - [Compact Sports-Ready Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hero-action-camera.md) - [Thumb-Sized Action Cams](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-action-camera.md) - [Rugged Field Professional Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ricoh-ricoh360-theta-a1.md)
