# Upcycled Wooden Pallet Loungers M&M Designers' Pallet Lounge Chair is Cleverly Crafted By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-10-29 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pallet-lounge-chair References: [recyclart.org](http://www.recyclart.org/2013/10/pallet-lounge-chair/) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/Les-Palettes/3758076) This pallet lounge chair by M&M Designers is part of 'Les Palettes,' a series of furniture crafted entirely from used wooden pallets. The chair is quite angular and doesn't look like it would be all that comfortable to sit on, but with the addition of a plush cushion, it would make lounging by the poolside a dream. M&M Designers' Behance page for this project includes a diagram with dimensions and simple instructions on how to deconstruct a shipping pallet to construct this eco-friendly lounge chair. Since the pallets come pre-constructed, it's really only a matter of cutting the wood pieces to the proper dimensions and securing them into place with just a few tension straps. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.8/10 - Popularity: 98% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Upcycling Furniture:** There's an opportunity to create more eco-friendly furniture designed from repurposed materials like wood pallets. - **Sustainable Home Decor:** There's an opportunity to create more sustainable home decor products that contribute to a circular economy and reduce waste. - **DIY Furniture Trends:** As DIY trends continue to grow, there's an opportunity to provide easy-to-follow instructions for creating unique furniture pieces using recycled materials. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Furniture manufacturers should explore how to incorporate more eco-friendly materials and practices into their furniture making processes. - **Home and Garden Retailers:** Home decor retailers should offer more eco-friendly furniture options, like the upcycled wooden pallet loungers, to cater to environmentally conscious consumers. - **DIY Brands:** DIY and crafting brands can provide tutorials and instructions for creating unique furniture pieces using recycled materials. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Upholstery-Free Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/massproductions.md) - [Ultra-Elegant Designer Outdoor Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/designer-outdoor-furniture.md) - [Eco-Friendly Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/recyclable-lounge-chair.md) - [Rattan-Like Modern Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mua-lau.md) - [Wooden Framed Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paf-paf-chair.md) - [Leftover Textile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugar-lounge-chair.md) - [Vibrant Chaise Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/versarest.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Cozy Oversized Cushion Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair.md)
